Lots of interesting things have been happening with Button Fayre and asides from being extremely busy completing orders, I've also tried very hard to keep new designs and ideas flowing, not an easy thing when you have little time during the day and so I have to be super organised.
I want to talk about my hoop art today because I wasn't really so sure when I started it where it would end up, but I amazed myself at the beauty and originality of it!!
I sat there one day a couple of weeks ago and just decided to go for it because I was a little nervous as I'd not done any free style machine embroidery for quite some years. I used to love doing it and felt really at ease but the time lapse, plus the fact that I have a new machine to get used to, made me feel a little nervous.
My style was always a little ' mishap ' for want of a better word. I don't like ' neat ' and have always been a bit of a scribbler, doodler and ' let's just go for it ' type of person with sometimes amazing results and so was thrilled at my first recent attempt.
Here is a photo of the end result after sitting at the machine.
I have lots of ideas for these and can of course use them for so many things. Free style really is a very personal thing and 100% unique to the person doing it because you are essentially drawing using your machine and so anyone buying anything done in this way can be sure of having something highly original indeed.
I've since found the time to only do one more so far, below, and think I may turn it into a Kindle case too. I now have all different sized hoops so that I can adapt the designs to different gadget cases which is fantastic, I'm absolutely thrilled with the new design additions to Button Fayre.
