So here goes.....a little bit of honesty.
Working from home is so incredibly rewarding and one of the best decisions I've ever made but in recent months I've become a very busy sewist whilst trying to maintain a certain level of professionalism and creating a balance between some stressful times at home, mainly my 13 year old daughter and her severe Crohn's disease.
I truly believe that it's so important, as a parent, to have an outlet for stress and mine's my artwork, designing and sewing. I adore getting lost in my own thoughts, my own little world where anything goes, and there's nothing better than having the satisfaction at the end of a design that you've actually come up with that idea and even better, brought it to life.
With a heavy heart I did make the decision early January to slow down a bit for the moment in order to get my family back on track because recent developments haven't been so good and family always comes first. I'm not beating myself up about it though because it's all a part of life and another learning curve, in fact, it's such a huge learning curve for me personally because it's taught me that I now need to be even more organised in order to continue successfully running Button Fayre and so I have some big plans lined up, quite literally.
My order book is open for the end of February/start of March to sew cushions which I'm looking forward to and I'm also in the process of designing and sewing up some new ' Hooly Hoop Art ' pieces which will be for sale on my website and of course, on Facebook where I'm mostly present on a daily basis.
Here's a gorgeous ' Hooly Hoop Art ' piece that I made for my Christmas market and I love these, they're such fun and most elegant at the same time AND they look amazing hanging on a wall.
2014 was a wonderful year for Button Fayre because it really became established and I'm so proud of all the achievements made.
There are lots of new ideas and designs for 2015 but my main aim this year is to get a really good plan of action on the go and to arrange my time in such a way that I can concentrate on poorly children when I'm needed and eventually start working for orders again.
As always, I have a big presence on Facebook and so please do go along to take a look at the page where you'll be warmly welcomed and any questions, just comment or send a private message, it's that simple.
