Blogging

I really do seem to get myself into quite the muddle trying to keep up with posting on my blogs and not only that but my Blogger blog seems to have disappeared completely now.
I'm not a technical person but do prefer to stay hands on with my business and so it's all a bit of a learning curve and not as easy as one might think because running a business isn't just about sitting down and doing what you love all day long, you have to actively network and get your brand out there ( social media is great for this but very time consuming ), do accounts, package and post, etc.  I find it a challenge on a daily basis but a bit of pressure never hurt me and actually seems to keep me on my toes!

So, I really must try and blog every week ( in an ideal world ), or at least every couple of weeks, and use this time wisely.

News over the last few months?  Well yes, lots in fact!

Button Fayre Designs continues to go from strength to strength and was asked to supply to a beautiful shop in the Cotswolds.  However, I made the difficult decision to turn the offer down because the nature of what I do involves hours and hours on just one design and so unless it magically gets signed up and mass produced by a huge chain store one day I can't see me working for nothing and losing money...not good business sense.

I always find the September to December period every year really frantic as people are ordering for Christmas gifts but I do love it so much and in this line of work you really do feel rather Christmassy throughout, designing and sewing up lots of Christmas stockings and yummy items for the festive period.  It's definately my preferred time of the year!

We've had a couple of giveaways and Button Fayre Designs also launched a new range of resin jewellery in 2015 which worked quite well and fed my desire to work with resin and do something a little different.  There will be more to come on this but sewing will always come first, keep an eye out for some beautifully unique jewellery designs for the summer months.

Now to the brand new exclusive cushion design and the first of 2016!

The ' Flowery Rainbow ' cushion is a wonder and I'm so happy I tried it out after humming and harring for a few months.  It was accepted very well on Button Fayre Designs Facebook page and sold the same day it was posted with more orders to complete over the next couple of months.
I really love using little shapes to create and build up into a texture in a design and in this case used flowers to form the rainbow.  There is an option of up to 8 colours but for this design I used only 4, two rows of one colour, and I adore the girly, pretty, aspect of this design, it's a winner!

Button Fayre Designs has also now joined the fabulous Instagram and is loving it, what a completely different world, fast paced, advertises, and does just what you want for a business on the go.
Look on Instagram for ' ButtonFayreDesigns '.

Hopefully I'll be back in a week or two with more updates and news and I've some new fabrics on the way from Holland which is exciting and am waiting on some zips so that I can make a start on purses for an upcoming spring market night.
