Button Fayre is doing increasingly well which I'm very excited about!
The support I've been receiving has been fantastic although Facebook is now making it so hard for the small businesses to succeed which is such a pain. They're doing everything they can to make things difficult so that we have to pay to promote our posts, they're controlling who sees what, how many people see our posts and even photos aren't seen as much as a written post!
This is going to have awful effects on a lot of us and so it's becoming more important to stay up to date on our websites and blogs.
I've just ordered some beautiful new fabrics and will buy some more in a couple of weeks. The fabrics I like are quite expensive, hence buying them bit by bit, but will be worth it so that Button Fayre can offer exquisitely designed items that you'll be proud to show off!
I wanted to talk a little bit about my next giveaway which I will run on my website and Facebook.
It's quite an exciting one because I'm going to order some of my very own designed fabrics very soon and want to incorporate them into the giveaway prize!!
The lucky winner is certainly going to have something unique because all of my fabrics have been designed using paintings that I've done in the past and so there's no risk of ever finding them elsewhere.
As you all know, I love colour, and am incorporating lots of beautiful colours into my fabric collection for Button Fayre.
Once I've bought the first five, to test the waters as such, then I will post photos to my Button Fayre Facebook page for you all to see, how exciting!
Lastly, I bought rather alot of buttons this month!! Button Fayre now has big ones, small ones, medium ones, flower shaped ones, wooden ones, different coloured ones,
There is so much going on at Button Fayre at the moment and so things are just so exciting!
Firstly, I added a collection of felt products which are just gorgeous! I've been making lined phone/gadget cases, netbook/laptop sleeves and glasses/sunglasses cases and they're going down a treat!
As usual, all of my products can be made to order and on special request, at no extra cost, and I did in fact make a butterfly glasses case this week for a lady who loves butterflies, yay!
This is a photo of my pride and joy netbook/tablet sleeve. It's Limited Edition as I intend to only ever make 3 of this design, and it's called ' Kew Gardens ' and makes me feel so summery and warm. I hope you like it!
Secondly, I have been designing my own fabrics!! I had a dream at the week-end that I was using my own and then on Monday afternoon a website advertisement to design your own fabrics just popped up in front of me on Facebook and so it was clearly meant to be.
I've been working hard and using only my paintings in my designs, which I think is highly original, and I've come up with some beautiful ones so far so please do take a look on my Facebook page.
Thirdly, I've been designing the cushion for my giveaway winner and it's gorgeous. She asked me for a flower shaped one that she'd seen in my portfolio and then requested red spotty fabric and so I've happily cut and prepared it for her and it's ready to sew up.
My ' secret ' custom order is coming along nicely too. It's taken alot longer than I anticipated purely because I've had to appliqué alot of letters and numbers which are also smaller than the flowers I'm used to! It's been a challenge though and is almost finished.
I have some fantastic support for Button Fayre and am meeting some wonderful people on this journey and so am loving every minute of it and I hope you're enjoying watching it all evolve too!
Have a lovely day!
Evening! It's amazing how I feel! I was so scared about publishing my website but have had some wonderful feedback and so am feeling better, excited even.
I have a new cover design being designed for me as I type so I'll be able to add that to the site next week and it's going to look lovely and more professional for a website hopefully.
There is so much to think about and to do! I've spent today adding key words to the advanced setting on the website so that I get more ' traffic ' via search engines....I didn't even know this existed or that I had to do it so a good job Weebly is informing me of what I need to do, I'm very impressed with them.
I think I'll get the hang of it all eventually and next to think about is adding my shop to the site for the 21st April, ahhhhhhhh.
Wish me luck!
Just a quick post to share my thoughts on publishing my website today!! Ahhhhhhhhh.........yes, it's scary but so exciting at the same time!
I hope you love my site and I'd be very grateful for some feedback, please be kind, he he he.
My shop won't be open until 21st April just to give me a bit of extra time to get everything right and to figure Paypal out properly because I don't want to make any mistakes whatsoever. Check out my Facebook page though where I'm regularly available throughout the day and if I'm not about just leave a message.
I wanted to share with you a couple of brilliant fabric sites that I adore! Actually there are three now as I've since found a brilliant, humble site.
Firstly, one I frequent rather alot is Fabric Rehab. They are also on Facebook and provide excellent service and what's more, they deliver to France at a very reasonable price so I'm a happy person when I look through their wonderful fabrics.
I've recently had a lady enquire about making her some cushions with an orange theme and as I don't really have many orange fabrics I told her to take a look around Fabric Rehab to see if she found anything she liked. This option is open to all of my clients and if you see any fabrics that you fall in love with I can buy them and make up your design for you, yay!
Secondly, there is Frumble which I also adore. Their fabrics are to die for but I don't buy often because the delivery fee to France is alot higher and so I wait until I have family coming to visit and then place a big order so they still get my custom.
Thirdly is acheterdutissu.com and don't panic, this is French for ' buy fabrics ' but they are based in the Netherlands and you can put their site in to English and English currency and they will deliver to your door around Europe. I have found some wonderful fabrics for a quarter of the price for the same thing elsewhere so this site is well worth a look around.
Hope you enjoyed the head's up as they say and that you follow my blog and my progress with Button Fayre.
How exciting!! I'm not even published yet but wanted to share my thoughts and excitement about Button Fayre.
I am just so thrilled to have so much positivity about my designs on Facebook since I started my page and have met, and continue to meet, some wonderful people and crafter's whom are all just so kind and willing to share their enthusiasm for other's too. I think this is exceptional behaviour!
I hope my Button blog will inspire and allow other's to follow my thoughts and work as I progress, and I really want to be able to share everything I find as I go along on this fantastic crafty journey!
I would love for other's to feel free to post their thoughts, ideas and comments too ( as long as it's obviously to do with crafting or Button Fayre ) and want my Button blog to be a place of inspiration, compassion and kindness so please do share with me.
Button Fayre will officially be ' live ' this week-end and I can't wait!!!
Next post will be a little insight into one or two of the brilliant sites I've found that make my life so much easier.....fabric sites! Oh I just love finding them and when you find a good one or two you hold on to them.
I'm Lucy and the proud owner of Button Fayre
