I've been having a wonderful week with Button Fayre and have finally managed to make a start on my bag project.
I found the bags I want to buy next week on a lovely site a few months ago and have had them sat in the basket of that poor page for so long now. However, I've had to update the basket after doing a poll and discovering that most people would choose a natural cotton canvas bag. I love all the bright, bold colours but you have to do a bit of market research too and go with what the public want or you end up losing money and so I'm just about ready to place my lovely order now and get cracking with it.
You wouldn't believe all the ideas I have for the future of Button Fayre and I really love how it evolves week by week, it's such an amazing experience and I feel very privileged to be able to go through it, I'm very lucky!
Another new project I've started this week is called ' Button Fayre Kids ' and I'm very excited about this one. I'm a trained, and fully qualified, nursery nurse from back in my days at Cambridge ( I loved my student days there! ) and although I went on to earn a few other qualifications along the way, this one will always remain in my heart. So, with my experience and knowledge in this specialised area I've been able to design a special kit specifically for children from around 5 years of age and as long as the parent/caregiver provides the needle ( I'm not happy about sending needles in the post to children! ) then I will provide the rest and Button Fayre can hopefully inspire children to get creative.
Each kit will provide all the necessary materials to make a brooch, or badge, plus a lovely reward sticker for when they've finished and I plan on making lots of various designs for boys and girls.
Below are a couple of examples of the kits.
I'm already thinking about my next fabric order for fat quarters so that I can make lots of delicious brooch and gadget case designs. I ADORE how my mind chooses and mixes all the fabrics together to create something truly gorgeous and unique!
I will also be designing and making another cushion or two in the coming weeks as I'm missing doing this and have lots of ideas, so any fans of Button Fayre can start getting excited, he he he.
