I spent most of Saturday organising the fabrics, cutting them to size for orders, and then sending invoices out and all parcels are being posted this-morning.
Then I went food shopping in the afternoon and needed to pop into a boutique where I sometimes buy fat quarters and Liberty ribbon as I needed a bit more.
I was in this boutique and left my details over the summer with a really lovely man and so to my surprise the lady in the shop recognised me and asked if I was the lady who'd left details. I told her I was and she said that she'd looked at my Facebook page and really liked my things and so I still didn't quite get the hint ( as I'm a little shy in that kind of situation ) and asked her if she'd like some of my creations in her shop to which she replied ' yes '! Isn't it wonderful?
So, we talked about how it all works and I'm very happy with the contract I'll take with her. We talked about my life, her shop and even taking driving lessons in France, he he he. She is the most loveliest lady and so I really am flying high since, it's an amazing feeling to finally make a real start on promoting my work here in France and will be fantastic publicity. A French boutique too, I WILL be taking photos, he he he.
I'm meeting some amazing people doing Button Fayre and have so much support on my Facebook page that it is really quite overwhelming. Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in life and start seeing the world as a miserable place but there really are wonderful people in the world and so much positivity too.
The most incredible thing is the fact that a lot of my fans are crafters like me and so to receive such support from them is so lovely as they know very well how hard we all work.
Yesterday was a great day too! I designed a pattern for a drawstring bag and grabbed some of my nutcracker fabric and had a go. It turned out so well that I even surprised myself at how professional it looks! I myself would pay lots of money for something so beautiful and instead of cord I decided to use ribbon.
These come fully lined with a contrasting fabric and do use up quite a lot of fabric and ribbon but are so worth it. Let me know what you think!
I did make another Christmas gift bag too with some absolutely delightful fabric ( photo on Facebook ) and so have ordered in some more...oh these Christmas fabrics are dangerous!
