I initially started out with a few left over Stenzo fabrics from a few years ago, just to see the reactions of people, and if I was actually capable of pulling it all off because it's not one of those things you just kind of fly into, and at the same time, I find it impossible to be a super organised person with a clear ' 10 year in advance ' business plan because it's not possible to make fixed plans with a creative mind as your ideas about your crafting, your techniques and styles, and everything in between that influences you, are always evolving.
This week has seen some enormous progressions! I've bought some new ' tags ' to put in with my orders and they're laminated and so can be used as a bookmark or something and are a super cute reminder that you've bought something special from Button Fayre....... cute!
I've also, finally, ordered my business cards and can't wait to receive them! They are stunning and a huge thank you once again to Nanda Boukes for designing them for me just as I'd envisaged them! She's amazing!
You can find Nanda on Facebook as MissPolkadotdesigns and I highly recommend her, she's a lovely, lovely lady.
I also bought a new Kilner jar pin cushion from the Prickly Moose Facebook page and am thrilled with it! I've filled it with buttons and it's better than chocolate ( and that's saying something! ). It's so gorgeous and everyone should have one.
I'm also the most happiest person this week because Button Fayre appears to have finally ' hit the spot light ' with a design I made up on Thursday evening. I posted it and within 10 minutes there were already 30 people who'd liked it and the next morning it had jumped up to 63 likes and it's currently on 74! It is a gorgeous design for a bag brooch and I've not even sewn it up yet.
I do love birds and try very hard at Button Fayre to create unique pieces that not many others are doing, idea wise, and birds have frequently been seen in my designs because I think of them as beautiful and discreet at the same time. My mind is always evaluating how best to add a new design so that it's unique and something you can look at and go away thinking that you've never seen anything like it before, if you see what I mean?
Anyway, here's the design and if you want to see the end result then you'll have to keep an eye out on my Facebook page!
I've been so busy designing gadget cases too, in all different sizes, so that it will give everyone an idea of what is possible at Button Fayre. I really can make anything to any size requirement and am very happy to do so if anyone wants to enquire. I'll talk a bit more about this in a later post.
Button Fayre was also chosen this week to be the ' featured crafter ' on the Spreading The Handcrafted Love website. This wonderful site has opened recently and is filling up fast with some gorgeous, and very talented, work! Please do go and take a look at the link below and have a browse while you're there, you won't be disappointed!
