Happy Easter to you all and may you eat chocolate until it comes out of your ear-roles, he he he.
Easter is an important time for me, I really centre it around family and concentrating solely on them....I love hiding chocolate eggs and telling my children that the Easter bunny's been and I love watching their faces with the magic and excitement of it all, nothing beats it.
I've set up another blog recently and am still trying to find my feet on there, it's over on Blogger if you want to take a look. I'm having a job getting to grips with Google Plus but am sure I'll get there in the end, there just never seem to be enough hours in the day and any spare time I do have I'd rather be using it to design and sew.
Anyway, let's get to the point! I've set up a surprise Easter giveaway over on Button Fayre's Facebook page and the prize is so lovely, a gorgeous ' House Meadow Brooch '. This is a new design so quite an exciting one for me that I'm going to expand upon as it involves hand embroidery too...something I don't usually have the time to do but I've been forcing myself recently because I find it so beautiful and really quite diverse too, you can add so many little touches that you just can't do with a machine!
Here are a few photos of recent designs involving some of my hand embroidery and I truly adore the hoop, it's quite possibly the most beautiful thing and I could happily sit all day staring at it!
This is a beautiful house brooch made with vintage laces, modern Liberty fabric, a vintage button, pearls and some gorgeous hand sewn embroidery, I love it!
So, I decided to make one for a fabulous Easter giveaway on Facebook, I can't tell you enough how much of a pleasure these are to make, such fun, each one so unique, and I think that if I had an order for 100 of these I couldn't possibly become bored!
I can't wait to tell you all about this design, it's a smasher, elegant, beautiful, and the first time I've incorporated not only machine appliqué or freehand machine embroidery into a design but I've also added hours and hours of hand sewing. You'll need to do a close up with your computer to see all the detailing but it's beautiful, I couldn't feel more proud of this design called ' English Country Garden '.
Head on over to Button Fayre on Blogger in a bit to get the full story on this amazing cushion.
Oooh, I also need to tell you, very soon I promise, all about my new craft room too! Yes, I get my very own craft room in a couple of weeks and have started planning it's decor already with some vintage wallpaper on it's way, white paint ready to go and the sewing up of curtains and a new sewing machine cover just for starters, exciting hey?!
Have a truly wonderful Easter Monday!
