Luckily this week I've had my father here on holiday with us and so when my machine decided to cause me some problems yesterday by skipping stitches etc, he was on hand to take a look.
My Dad is a music technician and can fix anything, if it can be fixed, and so I was super happy when he knew straight away that it was a tension problem. I knew something had to be wrong with the tension but just couldn't figure it out as all the settings were on what I'd usually use for the particular work I was doing and so it was rather a moment of confusion for me.
We both took a proper look at it last night when things in the house were calm and quiet and the problem was with the bobbin tension, somehow it had moved or become dislodged whilst I was changing cottons. So, as my machine instructions are rather vague ( a little surprised by that as it's a Janome machine ) my father explained everything to me, pretty technically too, and I made notes of everything for the future, he he he.
So panic turned into a ' phew ' moment and I'm happy again and able to sew with my almost new machine that's been recently oiled and cleaned right out.
I've still been making some little gift/accessory bags as and when I can fit them in and they're so cute. I designed and made this one today and then played with the photo a little bit to put a cute effect on and this is the result.
