I suppose these cushions are what I'll always be known for and as I've progressed and evolved the business, the cushions have become a rare thing to do unless I get an order for them, and so a couple of weeks ago I decided to add a new design using several different techniques.
I've always loved calling my creations by funny, quirky names and so the name ' Scatty ' kind of stuck and I quite like it.
This new cushion design took one whole week to complete and I even had to stop mid-week and put it down for a day because I really wanted it to look like a piece of art work and to incorporate what I'm capable of doing too...it wasn't easy!
So, I will make this cushion up in stages....firstly, I'll sew the base together and then appliqué on the jug. I've still not decided whether to appliqué or freestyle machine embroider the flowers at the bottom next to the jug and knowing me won't do until the last minute, he he he.
I definately know that for the last stage I will hoop up and freestyle machine embroider the large petal/flower design and I'm so excited! I've done this design before and it looks so affective, so different, and so I really can't wait to see how it turns out.
Then I will have to sew the whole thing up into a cushion and I want to add pom pom trim to the edges too.
I've been very lucky indeed as a lovely lady has already fallen in love with this design and so I will take extra special care sewing it up so that I send her something truly beautiful and unique in the post and I think we're both excited at how it's going to turn out!
Here is the design....isn't it beautiful?!
