I love the longer, brighter, days and putting on spring/summer glad wrags....all of the making plans for the summer too, even in the garden, just love, love, love.
I've been very busy since my last blog post and firstly wanted to show you the giveaway winner's beautiful butterfly cushion.
It was truly amazing to work on as I've been itching to really start mixing up vintage and modern fabrics and so went to town on this design.
It always amazes me how mixing vintage and modern takes you on a journey through time and the end result is really quite something, a real up to date, cutting edge, put it out there, piece of work to add to the modern design world.
Here it is and the photo's a little dark and so I've added a couple of close up shots too, enjoy!
I've also been busy with bunting orders and am going to make quite a few ' mini ' buntings, for doorways and windows, for my spring market night which I still have to decide a date for. Time's flying by this year so far and with certain family commitments and school holiday's, my feet don't seem to touch the ground ( however, I do prefer it this way or I'd be bored ).
Here's a pretty photo of some mini bunting.
I can't decide if it's cute, pretty, colourful, busy, quirky, or what, but I'm thinking that it seems to be all of these things and my imagination's really gone to town on this design.
I originally had the idea of doing a ' Fairy Cat ' design after looking at a photo of one of my cat cushions and seeing shadows that looked like wings on the cat.....amazing where inspiration comes from sometimes!
So, here it is and I hope you like it. The next blog post will be about the sewing up and final design, yay!
Oooh, I almost forgot to tell you about the huge fun I'm having on Instagram right now and some of the business's I'm finding are incredible, really beautiful! It's a whole new world on there, and of course another marketing avenue, and I love how I'm able to show more of my life in photos and text, instantly. It all makes sense and falls into place somehow and is also a lot easier for my clients to see the ' real ' me and what goes on behind the scenes ( which is always exciting as let's face it, we're all a little bit nosey and love to know the real people behind the products, I do anyway and find it fascinating that all of the art and craft folk out there are such kind, talented, free spirited, and fabulous individuals ).
Bye for now,
