I'm learning fast that time flies! There really aren't enough hours in the day for me at the moment and I found myself sat working until midnight most nights, just to keep up.
I have a regular flow of wonderful orders now and it's most exciting to get customised orders because they're always a challenge and an opportunity to try something new.
I've recently been asked to create something special ( I can't say too much about it ), a 20cm x 20cm dinosaur cushion for a little boy. This cushion has a very special job to do in it's future and so I'm thrilled to have been asked to do this and the challenge has been creating something for a child which I don't often do. Most of my designs are fun and bright, filling the world with colour, and as I have 6 children of my own then I think that alone makes me qualified in having some kind of an idea about what children like. I'm a trained NNEB nursery nurse too and so have always been good at developing children's imaginations and organising art and craft activities. More on this project is to come!
The week has gone very fast and alongside the fantastic orders I have I also have to start preparing for my upcoming craft fair in November. It's a Christmas one and my first one too!
I plan on making a minimum amount of things...mini sacks, wash bags, brooches, bookmarks, key-rings, a couple of Kindle cases, a couple of cushions, a couple of phone/gadget cases, hoops, Christmas decorations etc....just a variety of my things, showing off my skills.
I've been thinking hard about how to present my table and have had the most amazing ideas, it's going to look gorgeous and involves a vintage metal suitcase and some vintage storage boxes! I'm not giving any more away until the day.
I've managed to complete lots of smaller orders this week as I've been waiting on fabric deliveries for larger orders.
I think this has to be my favourite of the week, I just love the photo!
Have a smashing week-end!
